The Group undertook a consultancy study on the mechanisation and automation options in the wood industry for the Malaysian Timber Council (MTC). The study was focused on the wood moulding and also wooden door manufacturing, whereby the Group identified the areas for mechanisation, provided recommendations on improving process workflow, including processes to be mechanised and how it could be mechanised. The study commenced in July 2011 and was completed by year end. Visits and studies on several companies, as well as discussions were held to complete the study. The study ended with a briefing session to MTC and its members on the findings of the study held on November 11, 2011.
